Gribby Judo is located in Gribbylund, about 7 english miles north of Stockholm City. We are one of the10 largest clubs in Sweden, in terms of the number of active children. During the coming year we will be arranging many events ranging from gradings for the children to hosting two competitions in the Stockholm area. You can find us on this map. Gribby Judo was founded in the summer of 2000. During the first year we practiced in a school, but now we have a dojo of our own. The dojo's address is "Gribbylunds torg 4, Täby". The children take part in competitions about 6-7 times every year, mostly in the Stockholm area. In May and December we travel to the north of Sweden and spend the weekend together. The children love the adventure of visiting other clubs and to sleeping on the tatami. The chairman and head-coach of Gribby Judo is Håkan Hedberg. He has been a judoka since 1967. During the summer of 2003 he and his family, together with another family from Gribby Judo, visited Japan. During that tour he had arranged an exchange program with some judo clubs in Tokyo, Fukuoka and Tamana. See some pictures at this link. During the visit to Japan we discovered some new and interesting ideas and inspirations. They are now implemented in our club. We are very happy for the arrangements made by our japanese friends.
